Footsteps of the Fallen: Meet My Mascot

I won’t be completely alone on my upcoming run from Paris to London via the Western Front. Instead I will be accompanied by a rather special mascot, Tommy the Teddy.DSC04845a

Not only is Tommy named for all soldiers of the First World War, who were of course known as Tommies; he is also named in memory of two very special Toms, Captain Tom Sawyer and Lieutenant Tom Tanswell, friends and colleagues who lost their lives while serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. They will be in my thoughts when I set out on my journey next week.

If you would like to help me support our soldiers and veterans by raising money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity then please visit my fundraising page: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/lizzierunning
